It was the 74th Hunger Games back then. The reaping day. 12-year-old Primrose Everdeen was chosen to be the female tribute of District 12 for the Games. Just as skinny, pale, and weak as she is, Prim can't win. The silence of the crowd says it all. They do not agree. All of this is wrong. It can't be right. Screaming through the silence of the audience was Katniss Everdeen. Volunteering for her sister's sake. Katniss was ready risking her life to keep Prim alive. She knew this might be the end of everything. She knew she had to give everything up back home. Her family, her neighbors, school friends, and even her friend Gale she fell in love with. Katniss had been close to death before, and she believed it was what set to be the second nature in life. Little did she knew, what stands in front of her in the future after this, is what she never expected to happen. And all that, is going to change her life. Completely.
I thought this novel was quite emotional at some point, especially when Rue died. There was quite a lot of parts when I found Katniss was like, in the middle of nowhere, and just sometimes caught in between desperation and hopeful.
